Mischaracterization

According to an article on page 8 in the September 9, 2010 edition of the Clare County Cleaver, Longenecker Takes 2nd In State , Wilson Longenecker “looks forward to practicing at Michigan Moto Mania and trying to win the Championship race next year.”

The wording would lead one to believe that he has not been practicing or been able to practice at Michigan Moto Mania at all; the implication being that it is due to the stay that everyone knows is on the property.

My question is this: since his father owns the Michigan Moto Mania property, if Master Wilson is not practicing there already, what is there to stop him from practicing there? That would fall under the classification of “personal use”, and is allowed, is it not?

If Doug Longenecker can hold a Polaris sponsored event on the Michigan Moto Mania property in spite of the stay, although “no money changed hands,” then surely his own son can practice regularly on the property.

It shouldn’t have been worth bringing up in the local paper, except to provide some free PR and propaganda.

Way to spin it.

How will the Cleaver manage to put Michigan Moto Mania on one of the four main pages next week? What newsworthy event can they manufacture to keep Michigan Moto Mania in the headlines week after week? If anyone can do it, they can. Watch and see.
